All in a Frebruary

So February...that was a fast month!  I'm still kinda breathless.  Here it is in all it's picture randomness.

A Very Merry Un-Un Birthday!

I generally don't go crazy for birthdays.  It's kind of silly really.  But...that doesn't stop me from having a good time and using it as an excuse to not have to do any number of things big or small.  "Darling, could you get up out of bed and turn off the light for me....it's my birthday."  Like that.

What?

Home Away From Home

Longing...

Yes.  We went again (1-31-13).  Because we are gluttons for punishment AND because we love this place.

Any Given Thursday

Three guesses where we went last Thursday.  (That would be January 10th...don't get me started).  I love random trips to this place!

Labor Day Shenanegans

Happy Labor Day!  You know what time of year that is right?  Right?  An age-old family tradition...Still don't know?

It's a world of laughter

For someone who can't stand being in the same isle with other shoppers at the super market, you'd think that going to Disneyland would be more than frustrating.

It is.

But every year on Labor Day, the husband and I (and sometimes the Parentals), subject ourselves to a little Disneyland mayhem.  My parents used to take us kids every year on Labor Day.  It's now programmed into my psyche.  I LOVE DISNEYLAND.

This year was the first time we took 'The Kid'.

(Actually, he's been twice now.  But it seems like the first visit didn't count because...it wasn't Labor Day.  Weird.  I know).

'The Kid's' first trip looked something like this:

And this:

'The Kid' was 3 months old.  'The Man' and I had a hankering to go.  How I had the energy is beyond me and for some reason 'The Kid' was mostly interested in the light fixtures on Main Street.

The second trip was a little more interactive.  And my Parentals came along.

It was extremely hot that day.  Lots of people.  More than usual for Labor Day.  Anyway.  We went on the new Little Mermaid ride.  LAME.  On so many levels.

And strange.

For instance:

Is that a Frostee's Freeze on Ariel's head?  And even stranger was in real-time her 'hair' would bounce and wiggle to the music.  Odd.

But 'The Kid' was fascinated.

 And that's all that matters.

Tootles!

Begin at the Beguine-ing...

A little late for the blogging train, but here we are.  On the Blog Express.  Along with all the other time-wasting schmucks.

Mostly this is for family.

And yes.

I make fun of all those little moms who start a blog and talk about how cute their little babies are and all the funny things their little babies say.  And here I am.  I'm weak!  And a hypocrite!  But mine will be different.

I'm having a ridiculously difficult time trying to figure out what exactly to post FOR THE FIRST TIME.  So I'm going to post a little run-down of this past week.  Because I have pictures.  And everybody likes pictures.  Not words.  And I've already written too many.  (We're all really lame by the way).

Last Friday accomplishment:

As a new mother I am discovering just how small a window of time there is when it comes to what babies can and cannot get into by themselves.  I need to find another safe distraction for 'the kid' while I shower too.  Any suggestions?

Sunday:

Two words for you: Hack. Job.

Someone got their first hair cut.  Aw.  I know.  These things have to be documented.  I'm a sap at heart.  DON'T TELL ANYBODY!  I have video of it too but...I'm challenged.  I'll figure it out eventually.  And then the inundation will begin.

Monday:

the newest favorite past time....

....TOILET PAPER.

Those of you who've had children (or talented animals) won't need an explanation of this picture.

Tuesday (this one's for the big kids):

CHEESE!!!

'The Man' took me to a cheese making class in L.A.

It was divine.

It's cheese.

Sunset magazine did a write-up for Andrew's Cheese shop back in June.  'The Man' surprised me with an evening of cheese-making frivolity.  Pretentious L.A. people aside, it was a blast.  Check out Andrew's Cheese shop here and look for the Mozzarella Madness calendar.

And here is my little cheese baby I gave birth to:

Isn't she beautiful?  And she makes a great tomato and basil sandwich as well.  Toasted.  With a little olive oil.

Now scram.
