A Horse is a Horse of Course

Happy Chinese New Year!!  Goodbye Dragon, Hello Horse!  We had dinner with all our favorite people at our go-to Chinese restaurant. (Pam and Jason's, but it's actually got a real name...I can't remember).  Actually we celebrated a day early, but who's counting?  Is that considered bad luck??  Hope not.

I apologize if advance for the picture quality.  It was actually fairly dark inside and I didn't want to use my flash (the coloring is HORRIBLE...I'm sure there's a way around that but...ya).  So a lot of the pictures are very red and very blurry.

The parentals...

Noodles!

Not sure what he ate more of...the noodles, the rice or the ice in nearby glasses of water

I got to wear my Chinese dress that The Man's Auntie gave me last time we were in Malaysia.  (I have to wear it with leggings...it's a tish short)

A quick family picture in all our Chinese outfits before the kids were put to bed

Hooray for Chinese New Year!  I, yet again, did not decorate for it.  I so want to but I never seem to get around to stuff like that.  And I have lots of fun lanterns that we got from Malaysia.  Maybe once the dust settles I can handle the idea of bringing stuff out.

Anyway, we had a lovely dinner with friends and family and I'm glad we got to celebrate.  The kids were very well behaved, thankfully!  I hope it's one we will celebrate every year and that it may become a significant event for our children.  It's a wonderfully rich culture that I don't want to loose from our VERY American lifestyle's.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

  1. So I have to guess: the top fortune is the Man's and the bottom is Lady Chan's, right? Love the family picture and the outfits!
