Pinterest Goals

For those of you who are not familiar with the site Pinterest you really should check it out.  But I warn you...it's a major time suck.  Use with caution.

On the flip side, it has provided me with a place to store and find ideas.  Some really good ideas.  And motivation for me to get things done.  Here's a run-down of a few of my 'Pinterest' goals.

In order of priority, here we go:

Project #1

The inspiration;

The goal:

Re-paint the MB's kitchen nook.  This one is in-progress right now.  I'd say I'm about half-way done.  It's a lot of work.  And I get tired.  I blame my pregnancy, but I could just be suffering from a chronic bout of procrastination and laziness.  But here's the work in progress...

Yesterday I cleared out the cubby-holes underneath.  Now I just need to find a home for it all so I can get started with sanding and painting.  Then...the shelves.  Oy.

Project #2

The inspiration;

These are actually from a blog I read.  But I'm sure Pinterest has them too.

The goal:

I purchased this beauty at a garage sale before 'The Kid' was born.  It's time.  Preferably sometime before 'The Girl' comes.  I'm considering painting it a happy bright orange color.  But with a Lady Chan twist.  I also need to find strap replacements.  I don't even know what to call the stuff.  There's a number of things to be done before painting even starts.  Sanding is involved.  Bleh.

Project #3

The inspiration:

A kitchen.  Play kitchen that is.  I think it's cool and I'm hoping if I get it made this century it'll keep 'The Kid' more interested in his kitchen and not mine.  (Think ceramic bowls...).

The idea apparently came originally from this,

Yes.  It was once an ugly entertainment center. Genius!  I want one!  But I have to make it.  Luckily for me and 'The Man', we scored a $25.00 voucher at the GoodWill store.  Boom-diggity!

I have no real time-line for this one, other than to get it made sometime during the toddler years.

Project #4

The inspiration:

A quiet book!  Something to keep 'The Kid' entertained and...QUIET, during church.

But I've always thought a James and the Giant Peach themed quiet book would be cool.  But a bit ambitious.  And I'm not sure how I'd go about exacting it.  But I dream...

Cool, no?  Anyway...We'll see.  It's not considered copyright infringement if I copy the characters (in fabric) is it?  I'll plead ignorance on this one.

Project #5

Inspiration:

Frozen yogurt dots.  I don't know why, but they sound so good.  And actually, Project #5 is really an on-going 'food project'.  There's tons of stuff I see in magazines and on Pinterest that I want to make.  So this really kind of is a sample of the many things I've got on my kitchen docket.

So with that, go get pinning!  It's fun.  And stuff.

PS
As of today, we (the MB has been helping...a lot.  A big THANK YOU to her for that) have finished painting the benches.  So now it's just a few cosmetic things that need to be done.  Yipee!  Pictures are coming...

  2. Ceiling texturer extraordinaire at your service. Well....maybe not at your service. It was a lot of work. Not sure I could do that for a living. But thank you. The MB and I admire our handy-work often. Sometimes we surprise ourselves. :)
