Art Class: Klimt's Tree of Life

Again, I had to steal some ideas from this blog.  Last week we didn't have class.  I'm never sure if we're having class sometimes so I had to come up with something quick.  I don't like doing that, I don't feel prepared!

I think the girls had fun with this one though.  I had a fun time watching.  And fascinated by what 11 year girls have to talk about.  (Mostly, not much).  It's nice to be forwarned about what is to come with my own daughter.  (I sure wish she'd get here already!)

Here are the finished pieces.

The girls actually finished this project.  (We only get an hour).  It's amazing how time flies.  This was a nice exercise of using paper in a darker shade and learning how to work with that, AND coming up with patterns, etc.

Until next time,

Lady Chan

ps
The Getty Museum has an exhibit featuring Klimt's work right now.  Check it out!

  1. I absolutely love Klimt. Wish I were anywhere near the Getty! Anyway, have you thought about doing an Eric Carle class? Could be fun...

  2. Eric Carle is a very good idea...hm...the wheels are now turning. Though classes are on 'hold' until, whenever. We'll see what happens.
