Mother's Day 2012

So the first thing that went through my mind just now as an 'opener' was Christmas song lyrics 'it's the most wonderful time of the year'...

Indeed.  I told 'The Man' (Sunday) that it felt like Christmas.  I mean, REALLY felt like Christmas.  Better than Christmas.  (Am I allowed to say that??).

First came the Mother's Day card, which usually in and of itself is awesome because 'The Man' really knows how to write a great note.  AND there's usually something cool inside.  No.  Not chocolate.  Though that would be cool.  Some of the best presents come in envelopes.  Like this one:

A personalized Mother's Day card.  A new favorite
I must admit...we're Disneyland junkies.  I blame my parents for feeding that one.

Now, that alone was unexpected and kinda huge.  These babies don't come cheap!  (Does Disney not know we're in financial crisis globally??  Why do the prices go up every few months??).

But, the day got better because it involved this bad boy:

Yes.  That is a Bread Basket cake.  And yes, I've had two pieces today.  I don't want to talk about it!

Actually, as a little side-note here...because I happened to remember just now...a few days ago 'The Man' and I were in bed.  He with his phone, me with the lap-top.  I noticed that all my favorite web-sites weren't coming up in the browser via auto-fill.  Which means only one thing.  Someone cleared the browser history.  In some homes this might bode ill, but fortunately for me this means a VERY VERY good thing.  Most likely.  I was hoping anyway.  I asked 'The Man' what he was up to because he cleared the history.  Then he got all mysterious like, you'll just have to wait and see.  I hate waiting!!!  I love my husband!!!

Needless to say, he has one very happy wife.  One very spoiled wife.  One VERY blessed and appreciative wife.

And just for fun I'm posting a baby-belly picture.  Because 1) it was Mother's Day and it seems kind of like an appropriate moment to post something like this, and 2) It's cliche and 'The Man' says we need a picture of that.  I'm 5 months along and this is the FIRST one we've taken so far.  So sad.  And yet, I'm happy to not be on the 'let's take a picture of every friggin' week I'm pregnant' band wagon.  Because let's face it...no one cares but you and your man.  Really.

And yes.  This is the best we could do.  I'm camera shy.

Cheers,
Lady Chan
