World of Color

We tried something new today!  Yay for breaking the monotony! I can't really take credit for any epiphany you may think I had.  All hail to Pinterest!

I saw this idea on Pinterest and have been itching to do it since then.  I decided today was the day.  It's sad, but I'll say this...I've got to be pretty dang bored in order for me to get up the nerve to actually do something like this.  And at the end of it all, I wish I would do things like this more often!  I'm so lazy.

So, without further ado, here are the highlights of our painting adventure.

'The Kid' was a bit unsure at first.  I had to put his finger in the paint and make the first mark on the paper.  But that's all it took.  Then there was no stopping him.

And then he gave his painting some love.

And then some more love.

And then he just got plum tuckered out.  (I hear ya kid.  Being creative is exhausting)!

He was really enthralled with his painted hands.  So was I.  Look at all the fun colors, mmm.

I recommend this activity for all ages.  Shoot, I wanted to get in on some of that action.  I will say, if you do, just know:

1) It's extremely messy
2) This is an outside, preferably underdressed activity
3) If you decide to take him inside the house, past living room furniture and down a narrow hallway, make sure all extremities are securely contained.
4) And in case you were wondering...I used some old poster paint.  Non-toxic and it washes off walls and bodies really well.

Here's the final piece!

I'm so going to frame this bad boy!  Maybe it can be a Christmas gift or something.  New wall art!  Maybe it can be a rotating exhibit?  Hm...so many options.
