Camping and Things...

Last weekend Daddy told The Kid they were going to go 'camping'.  In the backyard.  (In an effort to acclimate the kids to camping in the future).  And apparently they weren't the only ones excited about it.

Bandwagon

Everywhere I turn today every one is posting pictures of '1st day of school' for all their kids.  So here's my contribution.  Not quite as well staged as others but here you go.  The Kid's 1st day of school.

He's now 4 days a week and it's hard to say who is more excited, him or Mommy.  He got up early this morning getting his school snack ready and his backpack.  He wore it from 10 in the morning until it was time to leave.  Such an excited kid.

Daddy, Mommy and Little Lady all went to drop The Kid off.  Little Lady didn't want to leave the classroom.  In fact, Daddy had to escort a reluctant, not-so-lady-like Lady out of the classroom.

The Getty and Other Things

I took the kids to the Getty a last week.  June 25th.  I can't believe I braved it.  I was in the mood for a drive and the kids were happy.  

Last Couple Weeks

We got rain!  And the fact that this is post-able news is really really sad.  But that's how much getting rain is a big deal...since there is none.  But the kids were enjoying themselves.  It was so warm out while it rained I didn't care the kids were half naked.

Backyard, Done! Mostly...

Here it is!  After over two years of looking at dirt, we have GRASS!!  Of course we still can't walk on it for another month, but I'm not complaining!

This is to illustrate just how long it can take me to get a project done.  I purchased this highchair at a garage sale ($25+ a VHS of Scarlet Pimpernel thrown in) when I was still pregnant with The Kid.  (That would be 4, years ago.  Ish.)

Hello there!  Remember us?!  I'd like to say we've been busy.  We have.  But not so busy I couldn't update the blog.  I'm lazy I guess.  But I thought this Easter holiday was a good time to re-start.

Ornaments

 They're here!  The ornaments have arrived!  I'm so glad I started this tradition.  And quite frankly, shocked it's still going strong.

To The Redwood Forrest

Behold!  Yonder forrest nymph there be!  Haha.  Ok, enough of that.  Lady Chan and The Man went on an actual vacation!  To see the Redwoods.  A bucket list for the both of us.  It was everything we were hoping for.  And we're dying to go back!

Halloween Roundup

Lots of Halloween activities this year!  It was so much fun!!!  The kids were really getting into it.  Though I think the kids would've been just happy playing on the tire swing in our friends front yard. 

Halloween Time!

I always forget how much I LOVE THE FALL!  The mornings are cold.  The air feels different.  It smells different.  One could argue it's the smell of things dying but...that would be kind of morbid to say.  Hm.

Project-mania

Lots of stuff happening at home.  Well, not LOTS, but busy stuff.  Lots of busy and back-breaking stuff.  Can I use that as my excuse for not blogging as much?  

Little Lady Turned 2!

Is it totally indecent that she isn't wearing any clothes?  I can't help it!  The thermometer reading in our house is averaging in the eighties for the last 5 months.  And we don't have A/C.  

World's Longest Update!

I kept trying to get a post in for July.  And then August.  And then what's happened to September?!  It's nearly over!  This will be my attempt to bring us all up to speed.  Brace yourselves!

4th of July Weekend

I hope everyone had a delightful 4th of July Weekend.  Ours was surprisingly really low-key and relaxing.  The kids were actually behaving for us!  

Week in Review

I know food really isn't much of a BIG event...wait a second.  Yes it IS!  Making dinner seems to be a special occasion lately (it's too hot to cook!) so I'm adding it to my week review anyway.  

Kitchen Happenings
